Why use a pet sitter? It's simple. When pets are taken care of in their own home they feel safe, stay healthy, and are very HAPPY! No shuffling to and from a kennel. No feelings of stress or abandonment, and possibly being around other sick animals. They are in their home, sleep in their bed, play with toys they love, around smells they are familiar with, so they feel safe, and HAPPY! You'll always come home to happy pets. As licensed pet sitters, the pets you love will eat, sleep and play in the comfort of the home they love with a pet sitter they, and you will come to know, and trust. Why We Do This

In the past we used to use pet boarding for our dogs and cats when going out of town. It was a lot of work! Bringing their toys, any special treats, or medicine, hauling their food to the kennel so as not to upset their stomach due to a new diet. Again, a lot of work and not to mention the ride there was heartbreaking for me because I always knew they would be sad and confused as to why I was leaving them in a noisy and strange place. When I would call to check on them, I was always told they were not eating, and it took around two days before they would finally eat. This always hung over our heads when we were on vacation, knowing they were unhappy. Vacations were not as fun because of it! Our cat Lily hid for a week after her first stay in a kennel, and our dog Leo came home vomiting after a different stay at the kennel, so I vowed "never again". I hired a pet sitter, and never looked back! Every time we came home they looked so happy, healthy, and content. Also the pet sitter would send pictures so that we could see how happy our pets were while we were gone. Vacations were fun again! When our sitter moved away last year, we were very sad to lose her. I tried to hire a new sitter, but everyone was either booked up, or did not service our area here in Suffolk. I even tried one of the big online.com services, and all of the sitters I reached out to said they did not service our area either. It was also a site that seemed mostly to be filled with people working as a pet sitter until they found work in their chosen field, or preferred career of choice, so when they move on it's back to finding a new sitter. Not what I was looking for at all! Finally, a friend of a friend was able to look after our furry family so that we could go on our trip, but I knew finding another sitter was going to be difficult. I quickly realized that Suffolk is an underserved area for pet sitting, and I realized that after house and pet sitting for my neighbors, and friends, it was time to start Mama Dolittle's Pet Sitting; one- because I love taking care of animals, and two- Suffolk is in need of a pet sitting company to fill the void. Pricing

*Pet sitting: 1-2 pets

30 minutes $30.00 ( per visit ) ; 45 minutes $45.00 ( per visit )

*Pet sitting: 3-4 pets

30 minutes $35.00 ( per visit ) ; 45 minutes $50.00 ( per visit )

*Pet sitting: 5-6 pets

30 minutes $40.00 ( per visit ) ; 45 minutes $55.00 ( per visit )

*Cats only : 1-2 cats

$20.00 ( 1 visit per day )

*Cats only : 3 -4 cats

$30.00 ( 1 visit per day )

*Cats only: 5-6 cats

$40.00 ( 1 visit per day )

*Exotic pets are $5.00 extra per visit with the above pricing

Dog Walking/bathroom break/fresh water - one visit: 30 minutes - $20.00

Work weekday walks: we recommend one, or two visits per day

*Vacation/Out of town: we recommend two visits per day of departure and return; 3 or 4 visits all days in between

*All pet sitting service visits include food, fresh water, brushing, scooping cat litter, playtime, plenty of hugs, and yes we will talk, and maybe sing to them! We also bring in mail, turn lights on and off, pull drapes, and water plants.

Small pets : rats, gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, fish, turtles and lizards:

$15.00 per day ( includes food, water )

Additional pets ( 7 or more ), and visits ( 4 or more ) will be priced accordingly, and based on availability.

Travel beyond 20 miles will have a travel fee of $5.00 per day.

Emergency dog walk ( if available to schedule ) $10.00 extra per visit

This is consider within 48 hours, or less of needed visit/s

Emergency pet sitting ( if available for schedule ) $10.00 additional per day

This is consider within two weeks, or less from date of travel

Pet sitting : We need a minimum scheduling of first visit within 40 days of travel to ensure availability
